Agile Services
Coaching & Mentoring
We work with Agile teams to enable them to rapidly develop their capability to deliver Digital Services. We coach in all the core methodologies, Scrum, XP, Lean and AgilePM and mentor the teams to implement the right combination of practices for their specific situation. We mentor the leadership to adapt the organisation’s governance/structures and their behaviours to enable Agile to thrive, while ensuring that deliveries are under control and money is being spent effectively.
Training
We provide in house, tailored training for our clients in all aspects of Agile. Our people include Agile Business Consortium certified AgilePM and AgileDS trainer/consultants. We were instrumental in the creation of AgileDS, which is based on our practical experience of delivering and training to the Government Digital Service Standard.
Digital Service Delivery
Where our clients have a capacity or capability gap and an important Digital Services Delivery, we can provide people to ensure that the delivery happens at pace with high quality. We can fill roles including Delivery Manager, Programme Manager, Service and Product Manager on an interim basis. We then help clients find or develop permanent staff to take over.
Our People
Jeremy Renwick started out as a software developer and was part of the team that delivered the world’s first electronic banking software. He then had a 10 year Sales and Marketing career with Fujitsu and Vodafone. Completing a Cranfield MBA he became a consultant developing strategy for start-ups, scale-ups and spin-outs.
He founded Kubernetes when he was asked to deliver the National Packaging Waste Database for Defra and the recycling industry in 2005. This very successful project was one of the first government digital services and was delivered using Agile techniques. He’s since gone on to deliver large programmes for Investment Banks and Central Government and become a coach/mentor to Senior Leadership to help them deliver the Digital/Agile transformation of their organisations.
Why Kubernetes?
Kubernetes (also Kybernetes) is the English translation of the ancient Greek word κυβερνήτης for helmsman (of a ship). It was adopted into Latin as Gubernetes and became a more generic word for leader. Gubernetes is the root of words like gubernatorial and governance. How to do governance in an Agile way is one of our particular specialities.
Kubernetes was also filtered through Ancient French to become Cybernetique and then anglicised into Cybernetics which is the scientific discipline that includes systems thinking. We use systems thinking as the basis of all our thought leadership and consulting approaches.
Cybernetique also is the basis for Cyberspace i.e. the Internet and all the cyber derivatives like cybersecurity. We have been delivering secure digital services since the early days of the World Wide Web.
Kubernetes mentors and coaches Leadership, focuses on helping our clients develop Agile governance, uses systems thinking in all our engagements and delivers Digital services.
